Welcome to The Mahjong Society, the official American Mahjong league hosted by Adventures for Women, a Just Right Events Community.
Designed for beginner and intermediate players who already know the fundamentals of American Mahjong, The Mahjong Society combines regular play and a little friendly competition with what we do best: a thoughtfully curated experience around the game.
Come with your Mahjong crew or come on your own. Either way, we’ll find you a seat at the table.

Our host location will be revealed to registered players and will be within approximately 30 minutes of Portsmouth, NH.
League Registration: $195
Registration is for the complete six-session Fall League.
Space is limited.

Already have your Mahjong people? Register together and come as a team.
Coming solo? Even better.
We’ll place you at a table and introduce you to other players. Tables and matchups may rotate throughout the season, giving everyone the opportunity to play with familiar faces and meet new ones.

WHO SHOULD JOIN?
The Fall League is designed for beginner and intermediate American Mahjong players who already understand the basics of the game.
You don’t need to be an expert. You don’t need to play fast. And you definitely don’t need to arrive with a team.
You should be comfortable with the basic flow of American Mahjong, using the National Mah Jongg League card, completing the Charleston, and playing a hand with relative independence.
Still learning? Our classes and Boot Camps are a great way to get league-ready.
A LITTLE FRIENDLY COMPETITION
We’ll keep track of individual scores throughout all six sessions, culminating in our season standings and Top Three finishers.
The emphasis is on friendly competition, good sportsmanship, and getting more time at the table.
This is a social league—not a high-pressure tournament.
Come ready to play, improve your game, meet other Mahjong players, and have some fun along the way.
HALLOWEEN AT THE MAHJONG SOCIETY 🎃
October 29
One league night is getting a little extra personality.
Our October 29 session will be Halloween-themed, with seasonal touches, surprises, and a few reasons to have some fun with league night.
Costumes? We’ll share more with registered players as the date gets closer.
Consider this your warning: the tiles won’t be the only thing getting dressed up.
FOOD, DRINK + THE EXPERIENCE AROUND THE TABLE
Mahjong may be the reason we’re gathering, but it’s never the whole experience.
League evenings are intentionally designed to leave room for food, drinks, conversation, and connection alongside play.
Adventures for Women hosts the community. Just Right Events plans and produces the experience. And experienced Mahjong trainers and hosts bring game expertise and support to the tables.
It’s what makes The Mahjong Society a little different.
Mahjong is the game. We curate the experience around it.
